Convert between formats
The stitches stay. The wrapper changes. Jump and trim records can differ by format, which is normal.
Common pairs
- PES to DSTPES is what many Brother machines read. DST is the file a lot of commercial machines and shops ask for.
- DST to PESTurn a shop DST into a PES you can open on a Brother or Baby Lock at home.
- PES to JEFJEF is the usual file for a Janome. This keeps the stitches and writes them in that format.
- JEF to PESBring a Janome file over to a Brother or Baby Lock.
- PES to EXPEXP is a common Melco-style file, used by a lot of Bernina machines.
- EXP to PESTurn an EXP file into PES.
- PES to VP3VP3 is the usual file for Husqvarna Viking and Pfaff.
- VP3 to PESTurn a VP3 file into PES.
- PES to XXXXXX is one of the Singer formats. Use it when your machine asks for XXX.
- XXX to PESTurn an XXX file into PES.
- PES to PECPEC is an older Brother format. Some machines ask for it instead of PES.
- PEC to PESTurn a PEC file into PES.
- DST to JEFA direct hop from a commercial DST to a Janome JEF.
- DST to EXPDST to EXP, for a Bernina or another EXP machine.
- DST to VP3DST to VP3, for a Husqvarna Viking or Pfaff.

- PES to U01U01 is a Barudan-style file. Use it when the machine or the shop asks for it.
- U01 to PESTurn a U01 file into PES.
- PES to TBFTBF is a Tajima format some machines still ask for.
